Do you have any advice for customers when renting a car in Cyprus?
Yes, like many industry sectors these days, unscrupulous brokers usually posing online as luxury fleet operators really do exist and the victims are probably more common than you might actually think.
Ask yourself what do I know about this rental company? If you can’t find a company name, company registration number, or vat (tax/fiscal) number easily visible on the site, then the chances are you not dealing with a legitimate legal entity and we strongly suggest you do not give them your passport or your driving licence or your money.
The information you need as a minimum is:
-The Company Address; make sure the company actually has a commercial operation and aren’t just working from a villa in Marbella! If a company is providing cars they must have commercial storage for them.
-The company Registration Number.
-The company VAT number.
-The country in which the company is registered.
Remember to always pay by card - Don’t pay by bank transfer. If things do wrong you can speak to your card issuer and you may be able to have the funds returned to you.

Can I cancel my reservation with Ivory Rent a Car if my plans change?
        Yes, but a reservation deposit is not refundable.
 

Can I extend the rental period?
        If the renter wishes to extend their rental period, they should inform Ivory Rent a Car via mail (ivoryrentacar@gmail.com) or via telephone (+35725370111) at least 24 hours before their rental period ends.
 

What happens to my personal information?
        Ivory Rent a Car does not require your private documents in order to reserve you a car. We do not take from you or pass on to third parties either your driving licence or passport details.
 

Does Ivory Rent a Car offer additional concierge services?
        Yes - when asked for additional concierge services from clients, we do our best to accommodate.
 

What is your refund policy?
        Your reservation deposit is not refundable. The money for the rental period and the fuel is not refundable except extraordinary situations.
 

Will the car be in perfect condition and safe to drive?
        Yes, our clients never receive vehicles in poor condition.
 

Do you rent cars by the hour?
        No - our minimum rental is for 48 hours.
 

What kinds of payment do you accept?
        All prices are in Euros and include 19% VAT. You can pay by credit card or by cash.
 

What Bank cards do you accept?
        We accept Visa, Mastercard, and most other credit and debit cards. Transactions are securely processed by Sagepay and Worldpay.
 

What documents must I have for renting the car?
        You must have passport; driving license.
 

Can I use my international driver''s license?
        Yes - you may use any valid driving licence.
 

How old must I be to be able to rent a car?
        You must be at least 25 years old to rent at this location. You may be less than 25 years old, but in that case you must have your driving license for at least 3 years.
 

Can anyone other than myself drive the car?
        Each vehicle is rented to a specific driver. If the renter wishes to add one or more drivers they may do so for an extra €5 per day for each driver.
 

Tell me more about gasoline, please.
        The gasoline is chargeable and you bring back the car with the empty tank. The fuel is not refundable.
 

Do you deliver and collect cars?
        Yes, all of our cars are delivered to and collected from the client’s desired location,
except The Turkish occupied area. Charges depend on the location.
 

Are there any limits for the mileage?
        Mileage is unlimited
 

Can I leave the car at the airport?
        Yes - the exact collection and drop off points you require are agreed at the point of rental and during the rental period to fit your travel requirements.

Use of Vehicle
-Usage of the vehicle for any illegal purpose, race, contest is not allowed.
-Towing or pushing other vehicles is not allowed.
-Carrying more passengers than the car fits is against the law.
-It is not allowed to use the vehicle when it is damaged.
-Driver must not be under the influence of alcohol, drugs or any medicine affecting the ability to drive.
-Renter is obligated to pay for any damages to the vehicle that are not covered from the insurance. Renter is also fully responsible for damages caused by negligence e.g. driving off-road or driving carelessly.
-All the cars have tracking system, so that if the car will occur in the forbidden area it will be switched off automatically, and it will cost 800 euro to bring it back.
 

What if I have a fine?
        Renting a car in Cyprus, Renter is responsible for all parking and traffic violations during the rental period. All the fines must be declared and paid by the renter.
 

What if I have a problem with the car?
        If the car breaks down, please, call +357 99994994 or +357 25370111 and follow the instructions.
 

What if I get into the accident?
        In that case call 77778686, 99994994 and follow the instructions and do not move the car.
 

What if I lost my keys?
        In that case you have to pay the cost of lost keys which is 150 euro.
